Adding the lovely "My Hearth & Home" from With Thy Needle and Thread to my wishlist because I've put off purchasing it for now, and I don't want to forget about it.
You just can't get trugs like these in the USA, at least not ones as well-made, sturdy and long-lasting. And trust me, I've been looking for some for ages. I guess a trip to the UK will be necessary for me to get my hands on these beauties. :)
I've been hunting here in the States for these double-pointed needles made by John James. No clue as to whether they would truly help me stitch faster or keep my floss from tangling as much, but it would be fun to try!
I am sad to say that I never collected the beautiful Goode Huswife charts when they were first available. A few of the old designs which are OOP are being offered once again here, but if I had my choice I'd save my pennies for their Book of Designs Volume No. 1, which is a collection of 10 fabulous designs in one package. I have an especial hankering for "A Primitive Bird" which is included in this set.
Here are three samplers by Primitive Needle that I have fallen in love with for their simplicity of design and sense of fun. The "Hallow" Sampler is probably my favorite design overall, but I don't usually display seasonal-specific needlework year round, and I don't think I could bear to hide such a lovely sampler in the closet for 11 months of the year. So if I were to choose only one it would probably be the "Earth" Sampler, but I would still secretly covet the other two!
Isn't this sweet? My sis has a lovely hand-turned scissor and string keeper very similar to this that a friend in the UK gave her (but hers is larger with a darker finish) . I've been looking for one like that for ages.
Wish fulfilled!! "Strawberry Garden" by Blackbird Designs is mine as of 10/22/09 :) Holding out hope that I can some day locate this beautiful Loose Feathers chart by Blackbird Designs, even though it is OOP. Something about it is so appealing to me, I can't wait to stitch it!
